Step-by-Step

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION — 6 STEPS

Our most popular mounting method. Stand-off screws create a 12mm gap behind the sign for a beautiful backlit glow.

Unbox and Inspect
Remove the sign from protective packaging. Check the acrylic backboard, LED tubes, and power adaptor for any damage. Plug in briefly to test that the sign illuminates. Keep the box for future transport.

Choose Your Position
Hold the sign against the wall at your desired location. Consider visibility, power outlet proximity (3m cable included), and wall type (drywall, brick, or timber). Use a level to ensure it is straight.

Mark the Drill Points
With the sign held in position, use a pencil to mark through the pre-drilled holes onto the wall. Remove the sign and place it face-down on a soft surface. Double-check your marks with a measuring tape.

Drill Pilot Holes
Using a 6mm drill bit, drill pilot holes at each marked point. For brick or concrete, insert the wall anchors provided. For drywall, the included anchors grip directly. For timber, screws go straight in.

Mount the Stand-offs
Screw the metal stand-off barrel into each wall anchor. Then align your sign and thread each stand-off pin through the acrylic backboard holes. Screw the decorative cap onto each pin to secure the sign 12mm from the wall.

Connect and Enjoy
Connect the power adaptor cable to the sign. Plug the adaptor into your wall outlet. Use the included dimmer remote to power on, adjust brightness, and set your preferred mode. Installation complete.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need an electrician to install my neon sign?+

No. All Neon Brothers indoor signs use a standard 240V Australian plug-in power adaptor. Simply mount the sign, plug it into any wall outlet, and it works. No hardwiring, no electrician. Outdoor signs that require hardwiring to a building mains should be connected by a licensed electrician.

What tools do I need to install a neon sign?+

For wall mounting: a drill with a 6mm bit, a pencil, a measuring tape, and a Phillips-head screwdriver. All mounting hardware (stand-off screws, wall anchors, washers) is included with your sign. For adhesive installation: no tools needed at all.

Can I install a neon sign on brick or concrete?+

Yes. We include wall anchors that work with brick, concrete, drywall, and timber. For brick or concrete, drill a 6mm hole using a masonry bit, insert the anchor, then screw in the stand-off barrel. The process takes slightly longer than drywall but is just as secure.

How heavy are your neon signs?+

Most Neon Brothers LED signs weigh between 2-6 kg depending on size. The cast acrylic backboard is lightweight but strong. Even our largest signs (over 1 metre) are safe for standard drywall mounting using the included anchors.

Can I hang a neon sign from the ceiling?+

Yes. We include a hanging kit with steel wire and ceiling mounts for suspended installations. This is popular for shopfronts, cafes, bars, and event venues. Ceiling-hung signs are visible from both sides and create a dramatic floating effect.

Can I install a neon sign without drilling holes?+

Yes. Every sign includes 3M adhesive strips for damage-free installation. This works best for signs under 2 kg on smooth, clean surfaces like painted walls, glass, or tiles. Ideal for renters or temporary event installations.

How far does the sign sit from the wall?+

With stand-off mounting, the sign sits 12mm from the wall surface. This gap creates the beautiful backlit halo glow that LED neon signs are known for. With flush mounting, the sign sits directly against the wall with no gap.
